Ringling International Arts Festival
The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art invite you to the inaugural Ringling International Arts Festival where more than 100 artists from the United States, Australia, Canada, England, Israel, Scotland, and Spain will come together under the artistic direction of New York’s Baryshnikov Arts Center.
From October 7-11, 2009, the rich diversity of ideas and forms at play in the world today will be celebrated with performances in dance, music, and theater – plus art exhibitions, museum tours and special events – in the theaters, galleries, and gardens of the Florida State University cultural campus on beautiful Sarasota Bay. There are over 200 performances over the four day Festival.
The John and Mable Ringling museum with over 300,000 square feet of exhibition space and three, fully equipped theatres is set on 66 tropical acres on Sarasota Bay. Over 400,000 visitors come to the museum annually and thousands others attend performances by the Sarasota Ballet, Asolo Repertory and the Florida State University Conservatory for Actor Training as well as visiting guest artists.
